The Brass Band
Melbourne Town Band is at the core of our organisation and has been providing local entertainment for 30+ years. A traditional brass band, we focus on genres including marches and hymns, popular music, works from film, musicals, operas and seasonal music.
The Concert Band
The Melbourne Town Concert Band was established in 2022 to allow our former training band an opportunity to develop their skills with more complex music. The inclusion of woodwind alongside brass and percussion has also opened our doors to even more musicians.
The Training Band
Launched with fresh focus in 2023, the all-new training band provides an opportunity for newer players to learn about ensemble music whilst having fun and meeting new people. With clear progression pathways we cater for all skill levels, regardless of formal musical training.
The Drum Corp.
Melbourne Drum Corp. provides opportunities for our percussionists to participate in events alongside the other bands; taking to the streets throughout the year at numerous carnivals and commemorative displays performing a variety of military marches and drum statics.

Melbourne Town band is partly funded by generous donations given by patrons of the band and helps our organisation purchase new music, equipment and band uniforms so that we may continue to provide entertainment for the local community.
